FAAC Gate Motor & Opener in Fort Worth: What to Know First

FAAC gate motor and opener work in Fort Worth typically runs $275 to $1,600 depending on whether we’re repairing a control board, replacing a capacitor, or installing a full motor and arm assembly from scratch. Most FAAC repairs finish same-day when we have the part on hand, and every price is quoted and agreed before we turn a single screw. If you own a FAAC swing or slide gate that’s acting up, this page is for you. Call (817) 241-4067 and you’ll get a real person, not a menu.

How FAAC Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • FAAC 400 and 402 swing operators losing limit position. These hydraulic units use a magnetic limit sensor inside the piston. Over years of North Texas heat, the sensor’s potting breaks down and the board loses track of where the gate is. The gate will open fine, then stop six inches short or slam into the close stop. We pull the piston, test the sensor, and replace it with a fresh OEM-spec unit instead of letting the board tear itself up guessing.
  • FAAC 750 and 770 slide motors burning capacitors. These run on a start capacitor that does not like the Fort Worth summer. When it swells and fails, the motor hums and won’t move. Cheap fix if you catch it early, but some outfits will sell you a whole new motor. We test the capacitor first, replace it with the right microfarad rating, and you’re back in business for a fraction of what a swap costs.
  • FAAC S418 and S450 boards losing programming after storms. Lightning around Tarrant County is hard on low-voltage control boards. We see FAAC boards that forget their open and close limits or stop responding to remotes after a close strike. Sometimes it’s a fried transformer, sometimes the board itself. We check the surge path before replacing anything, because a new board on an unprotected line will just die again.
  • FAAC 391 and 770 hydraulic pumps weeping fluid. Hydraulic FAAC units run on sealed oil, but the seals harden after ten or twelve Texas summers. You’ll see a thin oil film on the operator housing and the gate will move slower in cold weather. We can reseal the pump, refill with the correct viscosity, and bleed the system on site. That keeps your gate in the driveway instead of hauling it to a shop.
  • FAAC XR series intermittent remote response. The XT2 and XR2 boards sometimes lose their learned transmitter codes, especially if the antenna wire got pinched or corroded at the board connector. We’ll chase the antenna, test the receiver sensitivity, and re-learn your remotes. Most of the time it’s a five-minute fix and not a new board.

Our FAAC Gate Motor & Opener Process

  1. 1
You call, we answer. A live person picks up at (817) 241-4067 and asks what the gate is doing. We’ll ask for the model number if you can read it off the operator housing.
  2. 2
We come out and look. Hal or one of his crew shows up, checks the operator, the board, the wiring, and the gate itself. A gate that sags in the hinge post will kill any motor you put on it, so we check the whole run of travel.
  3. 3
We quote before we touch a thing. The price you get is the price you pay. Parts cost, labor, everything. No surprise line items at the door.
  4. 4
We fix it right there in your driveway. OEM FAAC parts when the model is still in warranty or the tolerance matters. Quality aftermarket parts when they’ll do the same job for less. We’ll tell you which one makes sense and why.
  5. 5
We test the full cycle. Open, close, reverse, remote, keypad, safety edges. We don’t call it good until it runs the way it’s supposed to.
  6. 6
You get the 90-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If anything’s not right, one call brings us back. No runaround.

What FAAC Gate Motor & Opener Costs in Fort Worth

Job Typical Range
Capacitor replacement on FAAC 750/770 $145 - $225
Limit sensor replacement on FAAC 400/402 $260 - $380
Control board replacement on FAAC S418/S450 $390 - $680
Full operator replacement on FAAC swing gate $950 - $1,600
Remote programming and antenna fix $95 - $165

What moves the price is the model year, whether the board is still available as OEM, and whether the hydraulic fluid needs a full flush. We quote it before we start and you’ll never get a call saying the price went up halfway through. Estimates are free. Call (817) 241-4067.

Why Fort Worth Homeowners Call Gatewood Fence & Gate for FAAC Work

We’ve been working on FAAC operators in Fort Worth since before most of the national outfits had a tech within an hour of here. Hal Gatewood has been at this since 2001, and his name is on the shop, not on a franchise agreement. That means when a FAAC 400 shows up with a worn piston seal, we reseal it instead of pushing a whole new operator. When a board is fried, we’ll tell you straight if it’s worth repairing or if you should put that money toward a replacement.

We carry parts and know the quirks of FAAC, but we also work on LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing every week. If your setup has a FAAC operator on one gate and something else on the other, we don’t blink. Every job carries the 90-Day Done Right Promise, written down. We answer the phone around the clock. And we never charge a trip fee inside the county. Veterans and seniors get 10% off, always.
